On September 18, 1931, Japan brazenly launched the "September 18th Incident" that shocked China and the world. Since then, the Chinese nation has been plunged into dire straits, and Japanese aggressors have successively created a series of appalling incidents on Chinese soil, bringing the Chinese nation to the brink of national subjugation and genocide. Countless martyrs have sacrificed their lives, fought bravely one after another, and saved the nation from peril with their own lives. Today, taking advantage of this flag-raising ceremony, we hold the "September 18th" event with the theme of "Never Forget the National Humiliation and Cherish the Memory of the Martyrs".

In 1931, on September 18, Japanese imperialism, in pursuit of its wild dreams, brazenly launched the "September 18th" incident, sending troops to occupy the three eastern provinces of China. Chiang Kai-shek's order for the Northeast Army to "not resist" resulted in the three provinces, rich in mineral and other resources and covering an area twice as large as Japan, falling into the hands of Japanese imperialism as a colony. This led to the enslavement of 30 million compatriots. Turning to this page of history, the words of Chiang Kai-shek, "Absolutely no resistance is allowed. If their weapons are surrendered, they are free to do so; if they enter camps, they are free to invade," strike deeply into the hearts of our Chinese people. What kind of national humiliation is this! With a disparity of 290,000 Chinese soldiers compared to 10,000 Japanese soldiers, one would expect an absolute victory for the Chinese side. Yet, in just three days, the Japanese army captured the three provinces without firing a single shot. This left 30 million compatriots became slaves of the fallen nation. What kind of sorrow and shame is this! Today, 77 years later, the sun still shines bright and the breeze still gently caresses our faces. But how can we ever forget such deep national humiliation and injustice? How can we ever repay such a heavy debt of gratitude? As an student, we must remember history, cherish our national dignity, and take it upon ourselves to rejuvenate China. On September 18, 1931, we will never forget this day. Let us shout loudly once again before the siren is sounded: Remember history, cherish our national dignity, and rejuvenate China!
